Hall Institute Executive Director Michael P. Riccards will testify at a hearing on Wednesday, June 2, on legislation that would create an elected State Comptroller in New Jersey.

Riccards will appear before the Senate Legislative Oversight Committee. The panel will convene at 10:30 a.m. in Committee Room 4 of the State House Annex in Trenton.

The committee will also hear testimony from invited guests regarding SCR41, which calls for an amendment to the State Constitution to provide for an elected State Comptroller and to eliminate Office of State Auditor.

The agenda also includes testimony from representatives of the Office of the State Comptroller, which presently is an appointed position, as well as from the Office of the State Commission of Investigation, the Office of the Inspector General, and the Office of the Medicaid Inspector General regarding Governor Christie's proposal to consolidate the functions of these offices.
