(TRENTON) - When the sunshine and warm weather returns this summer, New Jersey lawmakers and journalists may find their ears ringing because the volatile world of media and politics in the Garden State will be under discussion in Rome, Italy.
Richard Lee, Communications Director of the Hall Institute of Public Policy - New Jersey, has accepted an offer to teach a five-week Media and Elections course at John Cabot University in Rome.
Although the summer course will cover national and international topics, Lee plans to incorporate material from his home state, as he does each semester in a Media and Government class he teaches at Rutgers University.
"There is an unparalleled intensity to media and politics in New Jersey that makes our state an intriguing and valuable subject to study, regardless of where one lives," said Lee, a former journalist who also served as a Deputy Communication Director in the Governor's Office.
"I am looking forward to sharing my experiences in media, government and elections with the students at John Cabot this summer," he said.
Lee, who has more than 30 years of professional experience in journalism and government communication positions, has been Communications Director of the Hall Institute in Trenton since its inception in 2005. In addition to teaching at Rutgers, he is a media studies Ph.D. candidate at the school.
John Cabot University, founded in 1972, is an independent, four-year liberal arts university offering undergraduate degrees and study abroad programs to English-speaking students from all over the world.
